Seniors Played a Big Role in a Great Comeback

Willis, Mulder, and Hawkins all had some key plays tonight on senior day. The Cats came back after being down by 19 mostly thanks to Bam and a struggling Monk. That wraps up our 48th regular season title!!

She Said Yes!

Looks like Derek Willis will be getting married to his sweetheart! The senior got down on one knee during the senior night ceremonies and proposed to his longtime girlfriend and of course she said yes! Congratulations you love birds!!!

Two Games Left, Where Do We Stand?

With two games remaining in the regular season, I wanted to look at where we are in the SEC regular season title race and whether or not we could improve our NCAA tournament seeding.

As you can see we have another late tip on Tuesday night against Vandy in a Senior Night that will be very emotional for the BBN. This will be the last time we see Derek, Dom, and Mulder play for Cal in Rupp Arena. It very likely could be the last time we see Fox, Monk, Briscoe, and Bam as well! I think this one will be a double digit win and put us in a great spot for another regular season title. The last team standing in our way is Texas A&M and we play at Reed Arena in College Station. It could be a tough game as a lot of our road games have been but I am very encouraged by the way our team is playing right now to say that I don’t predict a loss all the way through the SEC tournament.

As for the NCAA tournament, I am not going to predict a National Title just for the fact that it’s so hard to do. We’ve shown throughout the year that we are capable of throwing in a clunker and if we do that in the tourney, we will be deciding on our NBA prospects instead of playing for the title.

USA Today’s latest bracketology has Kentucky as a 3 seed in the West which wouldn’t be horrible, but, I think by the time it’s all said and done, Kentucky will be a 2 seed. Let’s all hope Fox recovers quickly and our team plays as hard as it did against Florida the rest of the year! Go Cats!
