James Young hasn’t had such a few good years since leaving Kentucky, being sidelined on the Boston bench or in the D-league, but maybe now he’s got his chance.
Young was recently traded to the New Orleans Pelicans joining former Wildcats, Cousins and Davis. Today the Pelicans posted an interview that he had done and he stated “I’m just here to play basketball.”
In July 2016, Young re-joined the Celtics for the 2016 NBA Summer League, where he averaged 7.5 points and 2.8 rebounds in six games.
In October 2016, Young was retained by the Celtics for the 2016–17 season. In November 2016, in the Celtics’ ninth game of the season, Young scored a season-high 12 points in a 105–99 win over the Pacers. He went unassigned in 2016–17 but only managed 29 games during the regular season.
All of which are less than stellar for the caliber of player he is.
We wish you nothing but luck James Young.
