Football: Moving On

Last night there’s no telling how many emotions we as a fan base went through. Excitement building being up 27-14 in the fourth quarter. Anger after giving Florida two touchdowns on blown coverages. Hope after Benny Snell got off a good run setting up a field goal that Austin MacGinnis can make. Shock after a holding call was called on Nick Haynes. After all this the question remains, how do we move on?

As the schedule sets up, Kentucky should be 5-1 heading into the bye week with games against Eastern Michigan and Missouri up next. While being 5-1 will be great, I don’t believe the fanbase can fully recover until our Halloween weekend matchup against Tennessee. After the bye, Kentucky will head to Starkville to play Mississippi State in what should be a good game. Win or lose this game, it will be the week after that can get the fanbase back 100%. The Vols will be in town and Kentucky will be favored in this game.

By this time, I believe Tennessee will be in shambles and Kentucky will be 5-2 or 6-1 depending on how the Mississippi State game turns out. I believe the Cats win this game and win by a comfortable margin and it will be the game that we can finally put this Florida game behind us. This will get the fanbase back with Kentucky being 7-1 or 6-2 with a shot to contend in the east. Not only will this game put the Florida game behind us, it will be Stoops’ first win vs Tennessee. While this game will take some time to get over, BBN will be able to move on after the Tennessee game.
