Kentucky hockey falls to UNC in the second game of the Tobacco Road trip, 6-5 in overtime

The University of Kentucky Hockey Club played their second game in two days against North Carolina today. The Cats fought hard, even tying the game with 30 seconds to go in regulation, before falling in overtime to drop to 3-2-1 on the season.

The Wildcats got started in the second after a 0-0 tie to end the first. Jake Patneau got it started with a goal, then it was followed up by Aaron Bickle’s first of the night. Nic Quammen got in on the act with one of his own, and Bickle adds his second of the night. Beck Shultz scores with 30 seconds left in regulation to send it to overtime, but UNC scores to end it earlier in the extra period.

Kentucky will be back at it again tomorrow with a game at Duke University. I know it’s not basketball, but it’s still Duke. Go Big Blue! Beat Duke!
