The University of Kentucky Hockey Club got their three game North Carolina road trip off to a good start last night with a road win over Elon, 7-4.
Kentucky was lead by freshman Jordan Shannon, who had four goals. Cory Day, Ryan Duffy, and Blake Riley each tallied a goal to help UK get the road win.
Kentucky is now 3-2 (1-1 on the road) and has already matched their win total of last season. Coach Ison has the team heading in the right direction. Returning leaders mixed with a good influx of freshmen has lead to a much improved Kentucky Hockey Club.
The Wildcats are in the middle of the second game of this swing, against UNC, at the moment. Coverage of that game will be up after it finishes.
