Week 4 Helmet Stickers: Eastern Michigan

Kentucky looked rough on offense, but still got the win over EMU, 24-20. Here are the players that get this week’s helmet stickers:

1: Mike Edwards

Mike was all over the field today. He had multiple pass break ups, tackles, and the interception on the last play of the game. Mike showed today why many think he can be a high round NFL draft pick.

2: The Blitz Bros….with  Baby Blitz Bro

Josh Allen, Denzel Ware, and Josh Paschal lived in the back field. Each got a sack today, with Allen also having a half sack, and Paschel blocked a punt. Great game all around for these three.

3: Stephen Johnson

Yes his numbers were not impressive, but the man just wins. Not only did he get the win, but he took a beating today. Taking hit after hit after hit. But Stephen didn’t waver, he kept at it and won…again. This man is a winner and I am thankful he is our quarterback.

4: Nate Northington

50 years ago this weekend, Mr. Northington broke the color barrier in the SEC by becoming the first African-American to play in a game. Though he only got to play a little over 3 minutes before separating his shoulder, his impact was far greater than any box score. From the Big Blue Nation I want to say THANK YOU, Nate for having the strength and bravery to do what you did. To you it may have been just playing football, but to all those you opened the door for it meant so much more.
