It was announced earlier today that Kentucky’s Lynn Bowden Jr. received the honor of SEC Freshman of the week with his superb performance this week at home versus the Missouri Tigers.
Lynn Bowden Jr. ended up leading the Wildcats with 128 all-purpose yards, forty-nine of them came from his three catches on the night and the other seventy-nine yards came from his three kickoff returns. All three of Bowden’s catches resulted in crucial first downs for the Wildcats in key moments during the game.
With this stand out performance Lynn Bowden could easily find himself in line for more opportunities to receive more touches during the remainder of the season. During one of his catches that occurred during the fourth quarter, Bowden broke several tackles and ran all over the field to turn a play that appeared to potentially be a loss into a twenty yard gain for the Wildcats!
Lynn Bowden Jr. really is a special talent and is especially fun to watch because of his athleticism and because of the energy that he brings to the field week in and week out. When the Cats travel to Starkville, Mississippi in a couple of weeks remember to keep your eye on this young talent.
