For the third time in this very young season, the Kentucky Men’s Golf team has claimed the overall tournament crown including this week at the Crooked Stick Invitational in Carmel, Indiana. Wildcats Senior, Cooper Musselman, helped to lead the Cats to victory with his first overall collegiate victory as the Wildcats hung on to win by a single stroke to defeat North Florida for the title.
This season, so far, has shaped up to be the most stellar performance in UK Men’s Golf program history over a 3 tournament stretch, and the Cats continue to add to their absolutely historic pace. They are now just the second team, since the Brian Craig era started, to win 3 consecutive tournaments and are only the third team under Craig’s lead to win two or more tournaments during a single season period. If that wasn’t already enough, the Wildcats own the score for the lowest single round performance and the lowest 54 hole tournament score recorded.
Cooper Musselman, Kentucky’s senior from Louisville, Kentucky, was absolutely incredible during the Crooked Stick Invitational. He shot a -2 under par during all three of his rounds and found a way to overcome a one stroke deficit heading into the final day and eventually was able to pull away for the win. He completely dominated the field by a total of 5 strokes and was one of only four players to shoot under par during today’s final round of play.
This team is absolutely something special and deserve our love and support! For all of your latest in UK sports news and updates remember to “like” UKfansallday on Facebook and “follow” UKfansallday on Twitter!
