Many have assumed 5 star shooting guard, Keldon Johnson would sign in the fall period due to him being done with visits, but that may not be the case.
According to Adam Zagoria, Johnson’s father said he likely won’t sign his letter on intent this week and could wait til next week or spring.
“No, not this week, I don’t think so,” his father Chris said Monday. “It might be a chance next week, but I really don’t think that he would do it this week. Possibly next week.” He added: “It’s not too far-fetched that he waits till the spring.”
Could it be because Johnson wants to wait it out and see where RJ Barrett will land on Friday? Could it be he wants to make sure he’s choosing the right school to give him the most at his position and wants to see who goes pro or returns to Kentucky?
It also sounds like more visits could be in store for Johnson.
Chris Johnson said “there’s a good chance” Texas will come see Keldon this week, and said “I’m sure that Kentucky’s going to come up.” He told Adam Zagoria.
Johnson has been favored for a while to become the second commitment under Calipari and company, no will he wait it out?
Johnson is considering Kentucky, Texas, Maryland and NC State.
