Football: Writer Predictions for the Kentucky/Georgia Game

Braden Nevius

On paper Georgia is the better team. Kentucky may be able to give Georgia some struggles that Auburn did in the run game. I think Kentucky will come out strong early and take a first quarter lead and keep it close through the third quarter. Georgia is able to get it going in the fourth quarter and win by double digits. Benny Snell has another great game with 120 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Mike Edwards has 10+ tackles and an interception.

Prediction: Georgia wins 38-24

Rob Taylor

“This one is tough, if you look at the numbers we are pretty close to on par with Auburn. But the game is between the Hedges and the Bulldogs are coming off that beating last week. UK has got the running game going. The way to beat UGA is to stop the run and then attack Frohm because their offensive line isn’t great against the pass rush. If UK can slow the run, I think the Blitz Bros pin their ears back and have a field day. But it’s just hard to pick against UGA at home. I think it’s closer than the spread with UK staying with them, but Georgia will punch one in late to win.”

Prediction: Georgia wins 45-38

“I think the disrespect shown by UGA media types has lit a fire under certain important players (Snell & Bowden) and the Cats play inspired football. They hold UGA under 150 yards rushing, sack Fromm multiple times and force 3+ turnovers. Benny goes off with 150+ and 2 TDs. Josh Allen gets 2 sacks.”

MVP: Benny Snell and Josh Allen

Prediction: Kentucky wins 27-24

Jaiden Mingus

“Benny rushes for over 150 yards, Stephen Johnson has zero turnovers, Bowden has a few big plays, defense picks off the freshman quarterback twice, Chubb and Michel are held to under 200 yards combined”

MVP: Benny Snell and Mike Edwards

Prediction: Kentucky wins 38-28

Matthew Alexander

“Georgia holds on. Kentucky plays closer than everyone thinks. We have a lead one point in the 3rd. Benny Snell goes off yet again.”

Prediction: Georgia wins 38-28
