Football: Writer Predictions for Louisville/Kentucky

Braden Nevius

Throw out numbers and the prior games to this one. This game will be about their best versus our best. If the Cats come prepared, we can beat them. If they don’t, we’re gonna see a lot of Lamar Jackson. I expect little to no defense and the game will come down to turnovers like it did in last year’s game. I’ll take a motivated Stephen Johnson to go out on a high note on Senior Day.

MVP: This senior class for their hard work and determination.

Prediction: Kentucky wins 41-38 (oh yes I did)

Jaiden Mingus

“It’ll be a close game throughout but last year we were able to cause Lamar to have some issues and I see us using the same game plan. Secondary will play well and will have two interceptions. Our offense will shred their atrocious defense. Benny hits the 100 mark yet again.”

MVP: Benny Snell, Blitz Bros, and the secondary.

Prediction: Kentucky wins 35-27

J.R. Simpson

“In an entertaining game, UK’s ground game proves to be too much for Louisville’s defense. Benny Snell with 150 yards and 2 TD’s. Jordan Jones with 10+ tackles and a sack.”

MVP: Benny Snell and Jordan Jones

Prediction: Kentucky wins 38-34

Rob Taylor

“It’ll be a close game. I think the Cats pull this one out like last year. I think this group of seniors will now want to go out with a loss. Stephen Johnson will make a huge play to win the game. Courtney Love will be a tackling machine. Jordan Jones will have his hands full trying to keep Lamar from breaking huge runs, so I think that frees Love up.”

MVP: Stephen Johnson and Courtney Love

Prediction: Kentucky wins 37-34

Matthew Alexander

“100-0 Cats win”
