Heading into Wednesdays game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Anthony Davis and the Pelicans looked to continue to crawl up the standings in the Western Conference. (Where they currently stand at 7th place.) But then eight minutes into the 2nd quarter, the chances of the Pelicans winning quickly diminished.
As Davis went up to contest a shot against former Wildcat Karl-Anthony Towns, he was quickly called for a foul. To Anthony’s disagreement, he was very quick to point and shout with dismay at the referee. Which then the referee was quick to assess Davis with two technical fouls and seemingly ejected him for the contest.
With this ejection coming only one night after the former MVP LeBron James got ejected for the first time in his career as well. Could this mean that the refs are starting to become tighter with the whistle when it comes to assessing technical fouls? Only time will tell.
