UK Hockey player profile: Max Boss

This week’s University of Kentucky Hockey Club’s player profile is Max Boss. Max is a junior defenseman from Pittsburgh, PA.

1. What first made you want to play hockey?

MB: I’d probably say my brother. Watching him play when I was little always made me want to try it, out and it ended up being the sport I liked the most.

2. Who would you say has helped you the most in your hockey career?

MB: Probably my dad, because he was the one who always motivated me to be a better person and athlete throughout my life.

3. Who is your favorite team and player?

MB: Pittsburgh Penguins, but my favorite player of all time is Nick Lidstrom. (Why I wear #5)

4. Would you rather score a goal, hit a nice pass for an assist, or lay a big hit?

MB: I’d definitely hit a nice pass. I’ve always loved hitting teammates on long stretch passes for breakaways.

5. What brand equipment do you use?

MB: I use all Bauer gear, it has always been my favorite brand.

6. What do you like to do with your free time?

MB: In my free time I usually like to watch/play sports with friends.

7. What album are you listening to the most at the moment?

MB: Being from Pittsburgh, I’m a big Wiz Khalifa guy. So I’m listening to his new album called “Laugh Now, Fly Later”.

8. What has been your favorite thing about Lexington?

MB: Probably how nice everyone is and how easy it is to get along with people.

9. What would you like to say to the Big Blue Nation?

MB: Thank you Big Blue Nation for all your support! Y’all are the reason why we love playing at midnight every weekend. We have the best fans in the world.

Thank you to Max for taking the time to do this. The team plays DePaul tonight and tomorrow at the Lexington Ice Center. It’s the last to games before the semester break, so come out and support the guys.
