The SEC has released the 2017 all-conference team and University of Kentucky sophomore Benny Snell has been listed as the league’s first team running back. Junior outside linebacker Josh Allen has been selected as a second team All-SEC.
Benny Snell was the 2017 regular season rushing champion in the Southeastern Conference. The outstanding sophomore ended the regular season with 1,318 yards on 256 carries, for an average of 5.15 yards per carry. He also led the SEC in rushing touchdowns with 18. Snell has been phenomenal since his freshman year and is well on his way to breaking most, if not all, of Kentucky’s all-time rushing records.
Josh Allen finish the season ranked among the SEC’s leaders in several defensive statistics. The junior totaled 59 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 7 sacks this season and 1 interception. These are similar to his 2016 statistics, showing consistency in his play.
