Devin Booker continues to do Devin Booker things.
Since sitting out last Sundays game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Booker has just been on fire shooting the ball. In his past three games heading into Mondays contest vs the 76ers he was averaging 31 ppg.
Once tipoff started though, it seemed as if it was gonna be an off night for the young Suns guard. After the first quarter Booker was a pathetic 2 for 11 from the field. But as shooters tend to do, they shoot. Booker quickly hit two deep three’s and was perfect from the field going 4 for 4 during the second quarter, as the Suns headed into halftime with a thirteen point lead.
Once the second half started, it was all over for the 76ers. Devin Booker exploded against the Philly defense for thirty-two second half points and helped propel the Suns for a 115-101 victory.
Booker finished the night with an impressive forty-six points on 17 of 32 shots, 5 for 8 from three, 7 for 8 on free throws. As well as collecting eight rebounds and two steals along the way.
Overall it was an excellent game for the former Wildcat, and I expect him to have many more games like this as the season progresses. With one of the purest shooting strokes in the NBA and his love for shooting the ball, don’t be surprised when Devin Booker ends up winning a scoring title or two in the near future.
