University of Kentucky freshman wide receiver and kick returner Lynn Bowden has been named all SEC freshman team as a return specialist. Bowden was a multiple threat for the Wildcats this season. In addition to his tick return duties, he also took snaps at wide receiver, wildcat quarterback and running back. As UK’s main kick returner, he averaged 23.1 yards per kickoff return. As a wide receiver, he caught 15 passes for 210 yards, for an average of 14 yards per reception. In the wildcat quarterback role, he rushed 12 times for 37 yards, while also completing 3 of 4 passes for 92 yards and one interception. Bowden had a season long 93 yard kickoff return against Vanderbilt, which was the longest in 8 years for Kentucky. Bowden was also named SEC freshman of the week once during the regular season, after the Missouri game, when he accumulated 128 total yards during UK’s win against the Tigers.
