Today’s game was one of the best showings this season by this young Cats team. The shooting that we displayed so far has been above and beyond the norm. Shooting around 50% today has shown that yet again, this team is progressing slowly but surely, and even though it may not be as fast as some fans would like, it is faster than Calipari had mentioned earlier in the season. Most fans should look at this team and consider them ahead of schedule.
As far as three point shooting goes, we were shooting better earlier in the game but grew very cold later on. It is very clear that work is still needed from behind the arc for us, but I’m not sure that will ever be where we get the majority of our points. With Nick Richards playing great and Tai Wynyard coming in and putting in great minutes in Sacha’s absence, it cant look much better for our bigs. If Jarred Vanderbilt was to make an appearance this season after the mid season mark, the nation should look out.
What did we learn from this game?
- This team can score without Kevin Knox being very productive
- Tai Wynyard can put in good minutes
- PJ is getting better
- Shai can lead this team too
- We are getting ALOT better
- Hami is starting to score in other ways
On another note, Quade Green got injured and seemed to have his eye swollen shut, no reported time yet on when he will be back. But, in his time out it will give Shai meaningful minutes in the starting spot if he is needed.
Final score: 93-76
