Former Alabama quarterback and current ESPN analyst Greg McElroy made his bowl picks last night during ESPN’s Capital One Bowl Mania special. For those who’ve never played Bowl Mania, there’s a version of the game where you pick the games and give each game an amount of confidence points. The scale is from 1 (least confident pick) to 40 (most confident pick). McElroy chose Northwestern to beat Kentucky and seemed pretty confident as he used 39 confidence points in that pick. The only pick he was more confident in was Florida State beating Southern Miss. He didn’t spend much time discussing the Music City Bowl but he’s only clear cut reason for the confidence is that “Kentucky’s been up and down all year.” Kentucky likes adversity going into games and this can only light a fire under the Cats. This will certainly be some bulletin board material.
