Whenever Rondo first returned from a groin injury after missing the first fourteen games of the season, many of us thought the 31-year old guard wouldn’t be the same. But that is clearly not the case when it comes to the former Kentucky guard after last night. Rondo had himself one heck of stat line when he finished the game with 13 points, 5 steals, 2 rebounds, 1 block, and a NBA season high 18 assist! EIGHTEEN!
Known as one of the best pure point guards in the NBA in recent years, and now him finally having the tools again to be able to distribute the ball, its a match made in heaven with him and the Pelicans.
Now although he has only played in thirteen games so far this season, it is very clear that he is making a huge impact for the Pelicans. So far, the Pelicans are 5th in the league in scoring and 2nd in the league in assist, which makes it pretty clear how well the New Orleans squad is distributing the ball with Rondo running the offense.
Lets just hope this Pelicans squad can stay healthy, because there is way too much talent on that team for them to not make the playoffs.
