Where and When: Rupp Arena & 6 PM

Where to watch and listen: ESPN & UK sports network

After the 29 point win against the Louisville Cardinal, fans may just be feeling better about this team. Calipari was quoted by saying that he thought “the UCLA game was the punch in the mouth we needed” and I have to say that I agree. This team had to begin to understand that every team is going to come out at you gunning purely because of the name on the front of their jersey. It is simply the price of being a blue blood basketball school.

Now, looking forward at our next opponent and SEC schedule opener, the Georgia bulldogs are not going to be an easy win. Earlier this year they had an impressive win against a ranked Saint Mary’s. Their first exhibition of the season was against Michigan State, and they only lost by 12, while 12 is a decent margin, Michigan State is a national championship contender. To me, this says that Georgia should take on another loss tonight, but we should come out to play or it will be a very tough game.

From the game against Louisville we saw flashes of the scoring efforts from PJ Washington, and Shai Gilgeous Alexander who was named MVP in the Louisville game. If these two can continue their scoring production, we will be in great shape going forward. Tonight I don’t expect UGA to be able to keep up with the fast paced offense of the Cats.

After blowing out their last two opponents they are on a role coming into Rupp Arena, it should be a very telling performance for both teams.

Final score prediction: 84-68
