The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team has broken their eight game losing streak, defeating the Florida Gators 56-53. Taylor Murray led the way for the Wildcats with 19 points on 75% shooting from the field. Amanda Paschal added a career high 12 points also. Four Wildcats were tied for the rebounding lead with 6 each. She was perfect from three point territory and the free throw line, as well. The Wildcats, as a team, shot 41.8% from the field and 50% from three point territory. This win gives the Wildcats their first SEC win and hopefully the confidence to improve their play headed into Monday’s game at Vanderbilt. One major factor for the Wildcats lackluster play has been the injury to Maci Morris, which has been call a bone bruise on her knee. If Morris can come back healthy, the Wildcats have enough talent to right the ship and make a run in the SEC tournament.
