The University of Kentucky Hockey Club has moved up to 25th in the ACHA Southeast standings with a 15-7-1-1 record on the season.  This is a huge step forward for UK as they continue to put the past couple of seasons behind them.  Forwards Beck Schultz (44pts) and Jordan Shannon (43pts) are both in the top 50 in scoring in the ACHA Southeast and only 12 and 13 points out of the top 10.

The Cats have four big games left this season, all in the SECHC.  This weekend they are on the road in Nashville to take on Vandy at the Ford Ice Center.  Next weekend they are home for a Friday night game against Tennessee and Saturday against defending SECHC champions, Georgia.  Friday’s game against the Vols will be a special evening as it will be the first ever SECHC home game for Kentucky ever.  This is also Senior Night where the team will honor this year’ class of Aaron Bickle, Cory Day, Vikram Dudee, Francis Eble, Remi Paine, and Beck Schultz.  That night there will also be the presentation of the Taylor Vit Leadership Award presented by ukfansallday.com to the player voted the best leader by the coaching staff and myself.  The player will be given the award by Taylor Vit’s parents in a special presentation.  This will be a special evening for the team as they start to close out the regular season and look towards the SECHC tournament.
