With the Cats looking to add another body for 2018 after missing out on their top targets, Montgomery picked up an offer.
E.J. Montgomery told in a recent interview with 247 sports that Kentucky had offered him a scholarship. He is setting up visits to multiple schools in the coming weeks, on of those still includes Duke. He has a list of 11 schools including Duke, Kentucky, UNC, South Carolina, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, USC, Georgia, Clemson and UCLA. He has offers from all 11of them.
Montgomery was a former Auburn commit but de-committed after the FBI incidents.
According to Montgomery Sr. Kentucky has been involved for a little bit per ZagsBlog.
“They’ve been involved for a month or so now,” he said. “We first heard from them a month ago. They’ve been talking to me and EJ, we’ve been texting back and forth. They are planning to go to a game as well.”
Montgomery is a 6-10, power forward from Marietta, Georgia where he attends Wheeler High School. Recently he was named a McDonald’s All-American and is currently ranked No. 6 in 247Sports’ player rankings.
