On Saturday, Freshman Forward Kevin Knox notched the most points by a Kentucky freshman in a non-conference true road game, ever. Monday he was then named SEC Freshman of the week, rightfully so.
Kevin Knox averaged 26.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in a pair of Kentucky wins last week at home and at West Virginia. He hit nearly 70%(69.6 to be exact) of his shots from the field and went 9 for 12 from behind the 3-point arc.
In the win over Mississippi state at home he brought 19 points and swished in all four of his 3-Point attempts.
He scored a career high on Saturday against West Virginia with 34 points and 7 rebounds in the victory. He was the first Cat to score 30 points in a game this season. He also tied Malik Monk for the most ever scored on the road by a Kentucky player.
He has scored in double figures 16 times this season, including six games of 20 points or more.
It may be his first time being honored for this, but I’m sure it won’t be his last. Diallo and Gilgeous-Alexander have previously won it this season.
