It’s been a struggle so far for UK Women’s basketball team as they trail at the half 38-26 to LSU. The game started out rough for the Wildcats as it seemed everything they put up would just not fall, but on the other side LSU was hitting everything as they jumped out to 16-5 lead with the help of an 8-0 run to close out the 1st quarter. The second quarter went a little differently for the Wildcats as they were finally able to knock down shots which helped close the gap to 7 at 29-22 at the 2:58 mark, but from then on LSU didn’t miss a single shot and were able to widen the margin to 12 as they lead at the half 38-26.
The Wildcats are led in scoring by Taylor Murray with 7 points, followed by Keke McKinney with 5 points. Off the bench the Wildcats are being helped by Amanda Paschal and Dorie Harrison both with 5 points apiece. One of the keys to game was to shutdown LSU’s Chloe Jackson, but she led all scorers with 14 points and 5 rebounds followed by Ayana Mitchell who had 6 points to go along with 7 rebounds.
