Once again a slow start has hurt the Wildcats as they trailer 41-32 at the half. Kentucky had a solid half of shooting making 42.9% of their shots, but they were outmatched by Missouri’s blazing 65.2% from the field and 54.5% from three point land. Kentucky started out the half strong as both they and Missouri traded baskets before Missouri knocked down 7 straight shots to lead at the end of the first quarter 18-11. In the second half Kentucky was able to settle and knock down shots to keep them in the game, but Missouri kept up their hot shooting and pushed the lead to as many 16 before Kentucky began to make a run. They looked to have cut the lead even more but after a missed shot clock violation, Missouri was able to get two more points to push the lead to 41-32 at the half.
Kentucky is led at the half by Taylor Murray with 10 points, but she’s the only cat in double figures. One of the keys to stopping Missouri was to shut down Sophie Cunningham, but she’s been able to get 13 points on 5 of 6 shooting from the field. They’ve also allowed Jordan Frericks have a solid half scoring 15 points while going 6 of 7 from the field to go along with 8 rebounds.
