The 6th ranked Kentucky Gymnastics team fell to 13th ranked Georgia in Memorial Coliseum, with a final score of 196.150-195.550. The word of the meet tonight for Kentucky was sloppy. All throughout the meet, Kentucky couldn’t stick landings, hold on to the bars or beam, and didn’t have the skills that we are usually accustomed to seeing in the past of Kentucky Gymnastics. The upperclassmen for Kentucky did not come ready to compete and Georgia took advantage right out of the gate and never looked back. After a disappointing first three rotations for UK, the Cats closed out the meet on a positive note by earning a 49.275 on floor and keeping their overall score decent. Kentucky will look to improve on their worst score of the season this week before they travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to take on the 9th ranked Crimson Tide. Even though Kentucky didn’t live up to the potential that we KNOW they can, the atmosphere was amazing because of the #BBN. Even on our off nights, we can see that the future is bright for Kentucky Gymnastics and that we can expect to compete with the best in the nation.
Congrats to Georgia on the win, but look for UK to rebound next week and ready to get back on their winning ways! Thanks for reading and don’t forget to follow @Ukfansallday on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat. Have a great day and God Bless!
