UK Women’s Golf: Florida State Match Up

The UK Women’s Golf Team did have their share of struggles in the Florida State Match Up in Tallahassee, Florida this weekend. However, there is always a bright side to every situation. Kentucky Senior Grace Rose had a really good individual performance this weekend shooting a 71, 70, and 74 on her three rounds for a respectable -1 (215) for the tournament and this earned her a tie for twelfth (T-12).

UK Women’s Golf Senior Isabelle Johansson also had some pretty good rounds, as well. She shot a 70 (-2) her first round and a 74 (+2) her final two rounds for an overall two over par for the tournament, which was good enough for a tie for twenty-first (T-21). UK Junior Leonie Bettels and Sophomore Sarah Shipley’s rounds consisted of a 75 the first two rounds (+3) and a 76 on the final round (+4) for a combined plus ten for the tournament, they were in a tie for thirty-ninth (T-39). Kentucky Junior Claire Carlin shot a 79, 78, and a 77 respectively for a combined eighteen over par for the tournament, she was in a tie for fifty-seventh (T-57).

The ladies golf team finished eighth out of the twelve teams that were in participation, but I’m sure these great group of ladies are ready to get back to work in preparation for their next tournament, coming up March 5th-7th, which is the Hurricane Invitational. No matter what, continue to support these fine ladies and root them on like the Big Blue Nation always does, win, lose, or draw!
