UK Hockey finishes 4th in the SECHC Tournament after falling to one seed UGA

img_4523-1The University Kentucky Hockey Club will finish 4th in the SECHC tournament this year after losing to one seed, Georgia, today by a score of 6-2.  UK will finish the season at 20-9-1-1 and 7-2 in the SECHC.

This will leave a bitter taste in the teams mouth, but it should not put a damper on what was an amazing season:

Hosted and won the first ever home SEC hockey game against UT on senior night.

Went from 3 wins last season to 20 this season.

Ranked 24th in the ACHA Southeast.

Five All-SEC Team members.

Two top 30 scorers in the ACHA Southeast (Schultz 16th w/65pts and Shannon 30th w/56pt).

6-0 regular season SECHC record.

This season was a huge step in the right direction and it will get even better from here. Kentucky has a hockey program that is on the rise and they can be proud of.
