What looked to be a struggle early on, has turned into a an really outstanding effort for the Kentucky Women’s Basketball team as they lead at the half over Arkansas 39-32. The game started out on a 6-0 run for Kentucky before Arkansas finally got back into the game with an early 6 to 3 rebound advantage and capitalizing on those rebounds using a 5 of 11 performance from behind the 3 point line to lead 20-19 at the end of the first quarter. To start the second quarter, Kentucky was able to muscle its way into a 14-6 which included a big 3 from Keke McKinney and put back from Alyssa Rice to lead 33-26 and force Arkansas into a timeout at the 4:23 mark. Kentucky was able to push the lead to 11 before Arkansas hit back to back three pointers to close the gap to make the score 39-32 at the half.
Kentucky was led by Maci Morris with 14 points by using a 5 of 7 shooting effort from the filed including 2 of 3 from 3 point land. Dorie Harrison came off the bench to score 8 points and Keke McKinney also chipped in with 7 points. For Arkansas they are led in scoring by Bailey Zimmerman with 9 points, Jailyn Mason with 8 points and Malica Monk (no relation to Malik Monk) with 8 points as well.
