Four-star safety Keontra Smith is Kentucky’s lone commit for 2019. Smith is rated the 11th best safety in the country by 247. As you’d expect, he has been picking up recent offers from college football powerhouses. These offers include Michigan, Alabama, and Miami (FL).
When speaking with InsideTheU, Smith described the Miami offer as his “dream offer”. This may raise a red flag to the BBN, but Kentucky has been a great recruiting presence at his high school, Chaminade-Madonna in Florida. The Cats signed three players from there in the 2018 class. Just to give you a snapshot of how good this guy is, Smith racked up 108 tackles, 37 tackles for loss, one interception and helped lead the team to a state title. There’s still a long way to go, as 2019 prospects don’t have to sign their letter of intent until just under a year from now. Let’s hope the Cats reel him in!
