John Calipari in the midst of figuring out his young squads roles has taken a break to go recruiting. Yesterday he was in to see 2019 SF D.J. Jeffries in Mississippi and also James Wiseman in TN. These two have clearly become his top targets in Class of 2019.
Wiseman is the No.1 overall recruit in the 2019 class, but there is the option to reclassify. He’s Kentucky’s to lose according to mostly every analyst, it just depends on the class. Wiseman poured in 18 points in front of Cal in his team’s win.
Kyle Tucker at SECCountry recently caught up with Wiseman at a recent game and noted that Joel Justus flew 5,000 to watch him over the summer and it made a big impact on Wiseman:
It meant a lot, that he was dedicated, that he wanted me to come to his program,” Wiseman said. “For me to see him in the stands in Argentina, it was crazy — but it was great.
