Kentucky (14-15 Overall 6-9 in conference) never seemed to be able to pull away from Ole Miss (11-17 Overall 1-14 in conference) on several different occasions, but they were still able to get a much needed road win over Ole Miss 79-71. You can check the halftime update here. Kentucky was able to get off to a hot start as they were able to push the lead to 14 at the 3:57 mark and lead 55-41. But once again Ole miss was able to come back and they outscored the Wildcats 10-6 to close the gap and trail 61-51 going into the 4th quarter. It was a slow start both teams as neither were able to score until the 6:11 mark when Dorie Harrison hit a jumper off an assist from Taylor Murray. After that both teams continued to struggle as they only scored 7 points combined at the 4:36 mark for the final media timeout with Kentucky leading 66-55. Ole Miss was able to only able to close the gap to 8 points which ended of being the final margin as Kentucky gets a massive road win over Ole Miss.
Maci Morris led the way for Kentucky with 20 points and with that became the first player to score 20+ points in 5 consecutive games since Kim Denkins did it in the 1995-96 season. Dorie Harrison came off the bench to score 13 points while Taylor Murray pitched in with 12 points and 10 assists, Keke McKinney had 9 points and 6 rebounds and Makenzie Cann had 9 points and 7 rebounds.
Kentucky will back in action this Sunday at home against #2 Mississippi State. It’s senior day for Jessica Hardin, Makenzie Cann and Alyssa Rice. Tip-off is scheduled for 12:00pm and you can watch the game on ESPNU or the Watch ESPN App.
