Kentucky is moving on to the round of 32 after their 78-73 victory over Davidson. The dreaded 5-12 upset was avoided and BBN can take a deep breath. Davidson would not go away as they got it down to six on multiple occasions to keep us on edge. With a game score of 78-70, Davidson threw up a meaningless three that rattled in at the buzzer which resulted in the final score of 78-73. Here’s some key stats from the game:
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists
Kevin Knox: 25 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist
PJ Washington: 11 points, 5 rebounds
The trio of guys above really put the team on their back to lead Kentucky to the victory. Sacha Killeya-Jones and Hamidou Diallo also brought some nice production with 8 points apiece. It would be nice to see Killeya-Jones and Hami continue to give the Cats some nice production to take some heat of Knox and Gilgeous-Alexander who have become our main duo to look to. With the win, Kentucky awaits the winner of Buffalo-Arizona. Let’s keep dancing!
Note: Kentucky’s infamous three-point streak came to an end as the Cats ended the night 0-6 from outside.
