Two more players to keep an eye on for UK Hockey

img_5042-1As hockey recruiting continues for the staff at UK, there are players that haven’t committed yet but are in the picture to possibly be future Wildcats.  Here are two more for the Big Blue Nation to keep an eye on:

Fletcher Chun:

Fletcher is a 6’2 190lb forward from Memphis, TN.  He played last season with the Point Mallard Ducks of the NA3HL.  He appeared in 47 games where he scored 25 goals and had 31 assists, totaling 56 points for the season.  This is the type of scoring that the current staff at UK is really pushing to get and will fit in great in their system.

Cole Barney:

Cole is a 6′ 181lb defenseman from Fort Wayne, IN.  He spent last season with the Wooster Oilers of the NA3HL.  Last season he appeared in 45 games, scoring 12 goals and dishing out 40 assists, for a 52 point season.  Cole is the prototype defenseman that will fit perfectly in the current system, defensemen pushing the puck up the ice and getting involved in the offensive zone.

Both of these guys would fit in great with the current commits and returning players. This staff is putting a premium on pushing the puck up the ice, getting the other team chasing, and making them pay by putting the puck in the net.  It’s a fast break/speed system that just keeps pushing the other team.  It has to be a fun system to play in, one I personally watched tire out Tennessee and Vandy, among other teams along the way.
