According to CBS Sports Network’s Jon Rothstein, the University of Kentucky basketball team is going to be playing in New York City’s Madison Square Garden in December. The tentative date for a matchup with Seton Hall next season is December 8, 2018. The Pirates will be a tougher opponent than Kentucky’s 2017 Madison Square Garden opponent, Monmouth.  Seton Hall is a member of the Big East. In this year’s NCAA Tournament, they defeated N.C. State, before falling to Kansas in the Round of 32.

Seton Hall is coached by Kevin Willard, who is the son of former Kentucky assistant, and Rick Pitino disciple, Ralph Willard. Kevin Willard also coached under Pitino at Louisville. The last meeting between the teams was in the 1988 Great Alaska Shootout, which was a 63-60 victory for Seton Hall.
