In an all-to-familiar turn of events, a four star commitment has flipped his choice from the University of Kentucky to the University of Miami. Keontra Smith, a four star safety from Chaminade-Madonna HS, has flipped his commitment via Twitter this morning.
Smith was following in the footsteps of fellow Chaminade-Madonna HS alumni, Akeem Hayes, Marvin Alexander and Davoan Hawkins, who will suit up for Kentucky this fall.
Miami seems to have a penchant for poaching Kentucky’s high profile commitments, with Smith being the latest. Jarren Williams was “100% committed” right before flipping to Miami. It has to be frustrating to Mark Stoops and Vince Marrow to watch programs with bigger names routinely poach their recruiting classes. Hopefully, Stoops and Marrow will continue to evaluate talent better than everyone else and build UK’s recruiting class with quality players.
