2018 MLB Draft

We hope for nothing but the best for our Cats whether it be football, basketball, softball, and even baseball. It’s that time of year again for the MLB Draft, with 40 rounds and a few extras we look to see where our Bat Cats land.

Day 1:

We start off with Sean Hjelle being picked at #45 in Round 2 by the San Francisco Giants.

Day 2:

Tristian Pompey being picked at #89 in Round 3 by the Miami Marlins.

Kole Cottam is picked at #130 in Round 4 by the Boston Red Soxs

We have Zach Haake in the 6th Round at #182 picked by the Kansas City Royals

Luke Heyer is headed to California as he is drafted in the 8th round at #254 picked by the Los Angeles Dodgers

Luke Becker is also headed to Cali as he is drafted in the 9th round at #261 picked by the San Diego Padres.

Kentucky is one of three schools to have 6 selections in the first 10 rounds.(@UKBaseball)

We lead the nation with 12 picks in 1st 10 rounds in the past 2 MLB Drafts

Day 3:

Justin Lewis gets drafted in Round 12 at #369 picked by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Trey Dawson is drafted by the Houston Astros in Round 15 at #462

Christopher Machamer is headed to Boston to join fellow Wildcat Kole Cottam at pick 490 in Round 16 by the Boston Red Soxs.

13 total selections in the 2018 MLB Draft. That us the most in the country!
