Kentucky and the CWS

The field for the College World Series has been set in Omaha! The field consists of 3 teams from the SEC, 2 from the Big 12, 2 from the PAC 12, and 1 from the ACC.

Kentucky has faced 4 out of 8 teams. Florida, Arkansas, Miss State, and Texas Tech.

The other teams are Texas, Washington, North Carolina, and Oregon State.

The Red Raiders of Texas Tech came to town and we defeated them twice and lost once.

We faced the Razorbacks of Arkansas in Fayetteville and were swept by them.

The #1 ranked Florida came to Lexington and we lost twice and were able to beat them once thanks to a stellar pitching performance by Junior Justin Lewis.

A very hot Mississippi State squad stopped by and we beat them two out of three games.

All in all, Kentucky captured 5 wins over the teams in the College World Series! Even through the Cats fails to make the postseason, teams around the country know what Kentucky can do to any team: beat them.

Games start this Saturday in Omaha, Nebraska. Game one is North Carolina vs Oregon St at 2 on ESPN, and will be followed by Washington vs Mississippi State at 7 on ESPN.
