The first round of the Barbasol Championship at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky is finished and a couple of young Wildcats had pretty good opening rounds to start off their PGA Tour careers.
Tyler “Chip” McDaniel started out strong by making a birdie on the first hole but had some ups and downs throughout his round but included an eagle which is no easy task especially when you’re playing in your first ever PGA Tour event, McDaniel finished at two over par +2 and is tied for 113th and 9 strokes off the lead.
As for Cooper Musselman, he had an extremely solid round by shooting a score of two under par -2 and finishing tied for 44th after the first round of play and he’s currently 5 strokes off the lead as the leader is currently seven under par -7.
I’m extremely proud of both of these young men and I’m so excited to see how the rest of this tournament turns out! Hopefully both guys can make the cut and be able to play the weekend and see a full four days of play!
