Back in December of 2016, Joshua Paschal made the decision to be a Kentucky Wildcat. With that decision Josh became a part of a huge family we call Big Blue Nation. Today, BBN learned from Coach Stoops that Josh was diagnosed with Malignant Melanoma. This news has BBN reaching out through social media, as well as in person and through prayers, and wishing him a speedy recovery. At this point, I think I speak for all of BBN and say, this is more important than football. We here at ukfansallday.com hope that above all else, Josh beats this diagnosis and becomes healthy very soon.
The void will be large for Stoops to fill. Paschal had been hitting a stride and coming along very well getting 3.5 sacks last year and putting a lot of pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Josh also played very well on special teams and even earned SEC Special Teams Player of the Week after blocking a punt in a win over Eastern Michigan. TJ Carter and Kengera Daniel look like they will be leaned on to help fill that void until Paschal is ready to return to the field.
