Kentucky Football is still heavily recruiting for the Class of 2019 and a couple of key defenders have narrowed their list of schools down in the last 24 hours and Kentucky has fortunately made the cut. First one on the list is 4-star defensive end JJ Weaver, he narrowed his list to six schools this past Thursday. Weaver is a Louisville native and he has received offers from several top-tiered programs including Kentucky, Louisville, Purdue, Tennessee, Miami, and Cincinnati. Weaver would be a huge get because he possesses talent that would be able to make an impact at Kentucky immediately. Weaver has visited Kentucky on a couple different occasions but him being from Louisville you have to think that they have to be a strong threat to get him also.
Also on Thursday, 3-star defensive tackle, Isaiah Gibson, announced his final 7 schools that he will be choosing from this fall and fortunately Kentucky also made his list as well. He will be choosing from Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, Michigan State, Minnesota, Purdue, and Wisconsin. While it seems Wisconsin might be the favorite at this time according to 247Sports it is encouraging that since Gibson is an Ohio recruit and there are no Ohio schools on his list it is possible that Kentucky might be able to swoop in and get him. Vince Marrow has a really good track record in these types of situations and I trust that Marrow can get it done. As of now I would say that Kentucky is in a decent position to land one of these recruits and possibly even both either way would be awesome none the less.
