Plenty of tickets available for Kentucky Football season opener

If you’re like me, you’ve probably noticed that the UK ticket office has been making a lot of strides on social media lately to encourage Kentucky fans to come out and support the Football team for the home opener against Central Michigan on Sept. 1st.

Well if you want to go to Kentucky’s season opener vs. Central Michigan next Saturday you’re definitely in luck because there are plenty of tickets still available; roughly 20,000 in fact. If there has only been 40,000 tickets sold that’s way below what Kroger stadium will hold (61,000) and it’s also way below the amount of people that attended last years season opener against Eastern Kentucky University which was 54,868 according to UK.

These numbers are concerning to say the least and one is to ask why are the numbers so low? Could it be because of the Florida game last year or could it be because of our incredibly hard schedule this year? Who knows, but in response, UK released this promo on Twitter asking fans to lift the program up, offering tickets for as low as $32 each, or $53 in the lower level. You can also get cheap tickets from guyonthecornertickets and Ticketmaster.

I will be buying my ticket within the next couple of days and I encourage you to do so as well because I believe this team this year can become something special. Yes, I know, I’m drinking the kool-aid. I do it every year, but I thoroughly enjoy Kentucky Football and I know Big Blue Nation will do the right thing and rally around this team when the time comes!
