Hopkins County Cats: Jon Hood #4

Jon Hood played at Madisonville North Hopkins High School 2005 to 2009. Hood starred at North Hopkins High School in Madiaonville,KY earning the state’s Mr. Basketball honors in 2009 after averaging 29.4 points and 12.9 rebounds as a senior. He was the #40 recruit in the nation, a four star freshmen class in a breathtaking five man class that featured John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Eric Bledsoe, and Daniel Orton.

He played at UK 2009 to 2014. He was apart of Coach Calipari’s first season. He was the Gatorade State Player of the Year in 2009.

He redshirted his junior year due to an ACL injury. He was apart of the team that won the 2012 National Championship.

He played in 86 games, had 425 minutes, and 95 total points.

Hood’s senior year, his team played their rival Hopkins County Central Storm in the 7th District Championship. They would lose 54-49 to Central that year.
