Kentucky at Louisville: Volleyball

Cooper getting in on the action with her first kill to bring the Cats within two at 6-4 in the first set.

Make that two-consecutive kills for Stumler to cap the 4-0 UK run. Cats move ahead 8-7 in the first.

Stumler’s off to a great start in her first matchup with Louisville. She just sent the Cards into a timeout after her fourth kill, extending another 4-0 UK run.

Cats will lead 12-8 in the first set out of the break.

Cards call for their second and final timeout of the set after another 3-0 UK run with a kill from Paris and solo block from Lilley.

UK jumps out to a 17-11 lead in the first set.

First set goes to the CATS, 25-18! More of that, please.

UK has held UofL to just a .088 hitting percentage while hitting .310 itself.

Stumler: 4 kills (.400), 1 block
Edmond: 3 kills, 3 digs, 2 assists
Curry: 7 digs, 2 assists
Lilley: 7 assists, 2 digs, 2 blocks

The Cats jump out to an early 7-4 lead here in the second set after that ace from Lilley. Edmond’s fourth kill was also a part of the 3-0 UK run.

HUGE digs from Curry and Lilley keeping these rallies alive. UK has strung along three more consecutive kills from Stumler and Edmond, forcing the Cards back into the huddle at 10-5 in the second set.

The Wildcats have claimed 10 of the last 12 points and push the run to 6-0. UK is hitting a staunch .419 and holding Louisville to .020 for the match.

Cats are swinging .643 in the set to UofL’s -.118, lead 17-7.

Edmond and Stumler both have seven kills, swinging above .500.

And the Cats take a 2-0 lead.

Wasting no time getting the third set started with three enormous digs from Watson and Curry that lead to Edmond’s ninth kill of the match.

Foot just hasn’t come off the gas at this point. Put up another 3-0 run for the Cats as they climb to a 6-1 lead in the third set.

UK holding the Cards to a .105 percentage so far in the third set, staying steady in their efforts to close this one out up 17-10.

Blue reigns supreme.
