Just now UK Athletics released the Kentucky Football schedule for the 2019 season via their twitter account and you can see the tweet via this link:
The Wildcats will have their home opener on August 31st against Toledo. Not only that but the Wildcats will be at home for a combined three straight weeks to open up the season with Toledo, Eastern Michigan the following week, and Florida the week after that. Then you notice that the schedule reverses a little bit from this season, we then go on the road to Mississippi State and then to South Carolina for what will be two challenging games due to them being on the road.
Kentucky then has a bye week before they host Arkansas the following weekend and then the week after that the Wildcats make the trip down to face a really talented Georgia team coached by Kirby Smart. The next two weeks on the schedule we host Missouri then Tennessee before we take another trip on the road to Vanderbilt.
Kentucky wraps up the 2019 season with two very winnable games in UT Martin and Louisville in the final two weeks (both at home). It’s way to early to start discussing the probability of wins and losses but my opinion on this schedule is I believe that it favors Kentucky because it will challenge us to play to the best of our abilities each and every weekend but I also believe that the winnable games that we have on this schedule are spaced out well and the bye week comes at a pretty good time with us just playing Mississippi State and South Carolina on the road.
You won’t get a prediction out of me because it’s way too early to tell because we don’t know anything about next years team just yet but it does have me excited about what can happen!
