Fabian Penzkofer and Kevin Huempfner take down 16-seeded Indiana, 8-6!

13-seeded Enzo Wallart and Theo McDonald win 8-7(3) over Vanderbilt’s pairing.

Three Wildcats have picked up singles wins in Round One and move on in the main draw on Friday.

Bourgois def. Kiesslich, 6-1, 6-0.

Wallart and Chen are still in action.

Chen grinds out a three-setter 7-3, 4-6, 7-6(4) over Austin Peay’s Damberg and a strong, swift 6-0, 6-1 win from Wallart earlier, bringing UK to singles wins on the day.

Borgouis keeps rolling in the main draw with a three-set win over Belmont’s Llic, 6-2, 2-6, 7-3.

Yamada takes a commanding 6-1, 6-0 win, while Huempfner wins in three 7-6 (4), 1-6, 10-6 — both in the singles consolation draw.

Doubles pairing of Penzkofer and Huempfner reach the quarterfinals while Bourgois picks up a ranked win and reaches the round of 16 in singles. Back to work this week.
The Kentucky men’s tennis team wrapped up the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships this weekend with a doubles pair in the quarterfinal and ten singles wins overall.

UK saw five doubles wins in total with freshmen Penzkofer and Kevin Huempfnermaking the quarterfinal. The duo advanced past 16-seeded Indiana, 8-6, in the round of 64 before defeating IUPUI by the same score. In the round of 32, the pairing took down the fifth-seeded duo from Purdue, 8-6, before coming up short against No. 2 seed Tennessee, 8-3.

Bourgois made the round of 16 after her picked up three wins in total over Austin Peay, Belmont ETSU, including a ranked win over ETSU’s No. 107 Gonzalez. Theo McDonald – a freshman – moved past Memphis, 6-7(2), 6-3, 7-6(1), and Purdue, 6-4, 6-3.

UK will be back in action at the Florida Gulf Coast University Invite in Fort Myers, Florida, on Oct. 26-28.
