If you wanted offense, then this was not the game for you. The bye week rust for Kentucky’s offense was prominent for the Cats as Terry Wilson was only able to muster 18 yards through the air. The rushing game returned to its elite status as Benny Snell racked up 169 yards on the ground on 32 carries which was nearly tripled the amount of carries he got two weeks ago against Texas A&M. While Terry Wilson was not able to do much in the passing game, he complimented Benny well with 91 yards on the ground.
While the offense did struggle, the defense was once again elite. Kyle Shurmur connected on a 29-yard touchdown halfway through the first quarter after Kentucky’s offense fumbled in their own territory. After that one hiccup, the defense shut the Commodores down. Quinton Bohanan and Josh Allen were able to force fumbles where both were recovered by Kentucky and helped keep Shurmur and the offense off the board. Once again, the defense came to play.
The Cats are 6-1!
