Men’s Basketball

PJ Washington declared for the NBA Draft , signed with an agent, he cannot return

Ashton Hagans is returning for his sophomore season.

Keldon Johnson declared for the NBA Draft , he is going to test the waters, can come back if he wants to.

Softball

Kentucky traveled to Highland Heights Tuesday afternoon looking to get another win after falling to Ole Miss twice in their Saturday double header. Kentucky scored 13 runs on 14 hits and went errorless in their 13-0 win over in state foe Northern Kentucky, which was only an hour and 32 minutes,

Alex Martens got Kentucky on the board first when she doubled to lead off the inning. Jaci Babbs scored on Katie Reed’s bunt single. (UK 1, NKU 0) Malcai Branson hit a RBI sac fly scoring Katie Reed. (UK 2, NKU 0). Tatum Spangler gets a sac fly scoring in Mallory Peyton, who reached third on an error. (UK 3, NKU 0). Home run by Abbey Cheek to right field extending the Kentucky lead. (UK 4, NKU 0). Kayla Kowalik singles comes around scores on RBI groundout from Katie Reed. (UK 5, NKU 0). Lauren Johnson with a stand up triple RBI to right field corner scores Tatum Spangler. (UK 6, NKU 0). Home run for Jenny Schaper, her seventh of the season. (UK 8, NKU 0). Kentucky gets four runs in the fourth. (UK 9, NKU 0). Another home run from Jenny Schaper. Kentucky leads by a dozen in the fifth inning! (UK 12, NKU 0) A ground out to left side by Olivia Ward, followed by a RBI double by Alex Martens scoring Garr-Carter. (UK 13, NKU 0).

Kentucky travels to Baton Rouge to take on LSU in SEC play. Game one starts at 7 p.m. ET.

Softball

Kentucky traveled to Baton Rouge to take on the Tigers at Tiger Park Friday night. Kentucky wins game 1 of the series 3-2.  Autumn Humes got a strikeout to end the inning.

Kelsee Henson gets Kentucky on the board first as she hammers an RBI double into left center scoring in Mallory Peyton. (UK 1, LSU 0). Lauren Johnson doubles the lead with an RBI single. (UK 2, LSU 0). The Tigers tie the game up on an error. (UK 2, LSU 2). Kayla Kowalik gets a RBI single scoring Lauren Johnson with a walk. (UK 3, LSU 2).

Kentucky returns to action tomorrow at 2 p.m. ET. The game can be seen on SEC Network Plus.

Tomorrow’s game was moved up from 7 p.m. ET to 2 p.m. ET due to weather

April 13

Softball

Kentucky looked to continue their winning streak in game two of their three game series at LSU but came up short losing 5-0 to the Tigers Saturday afternoon.

LSU got on the board first on four walks and a hit. (LSU 2, UK 0). The Tigers added another run to their lead on two hits and  a UK error. (LSU 3, UK 0). LSU got two more runs in the fourth to secure the win.  (LSU 5, UK 0)

Kentucky looks to clinch the series in their rubber match tomorrow at 2 p.m. ET.

April 14

Softball

Kentucky looked to take the rubber match against LSU in Baton Rouge Sunday afternoon to clinch the series after dropping yesterday’s game but couldn’t as LSU clinches the series 2-1.

LSU gets on the board first with a two run to take the lead. (LSU 2, UK 0). Kentucky cuts the lead scoring a run on an RBI single into centerfield. (LSU 2, UK 1) Home run Abbey Cheek to tie up the game! (LSU 2, UK 2) LSU extends their lead with the help of the wind and gets two runs. They get another to be up by 3. (LSU 5, UK 2).

Final #5 LSU 5, #23 Kentucky 2

Kentucky travels to Louisville to take on in state rival Louisville Wednesday night in the Battle of the Bluegrass at 6 p.m. ET.
