NCAA Regionals: 14 Kentucky vs Virginia Tech

Kentucky continued their journey in the NCAA Regionals taking on Virginia Tech in the winner’s bracket after defeating Toledo 7-2 yesterday in their first game.

Kentucky is first to get on the board in the bottom of the 4th inning with Lauren Johnson hitting a RBI triple into left field and gives Kentucky the 1-0 lead over the Hokies. Kentucky 1, Virginia Tech 0.  Jenny Schaper hits a single into left field with bases loaded and we get two more runs for the inning. Kentucky 3, Virginia Tech 0.

Pinch runner Jaci Babbs scores on a wild pitch. Kentucky 4, Virginia Tech 0.Kayla Kowalik with a single into left field driving in Tatum Spangler. Kentucky 5, Virginia Tech 0. Bailey Vick drives in a run on a perfect bunt single with runners on second and third base, and after another Hokie error Wildcats lead 7-0 over the Hokies. Kentucky 7, Virginia Tech 0.

Emma Strouth gets Virginia Tech on the board in the top of the 6th inning hitting a homer down the left field line. Kentucky 7, Virginia Tech 1.

Alex Martens drives in Katie Reed on a deep sacrifice fly to right field. Kentucky 8, Virginia Tech 1.

Kentucky will play the winner of the Virginia Tech vs Illinois/Toledo game tomorrow at Noon ET.
